Zelda Mordhorst, 87, of Cheyenne, died December 8th.
She was born April 12, 1928 in La Salle, Colorado. She graduated from Cheyenne High in 1946.
Zelda attended nurses training at Mercy Hospital in Denver and worked at a local doctor’s office for a year or two.
On June 10, 1949, Zelda married the love of her life, Marvin Mordhorst, at Faith United Methodist Church with her Grandfather officiating.
In 1969, they started Marv’s Plumbing and Heating. They later became snowbirds in Las Vegas. They loved camping, traveling, playing cards, and being with family and friends.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Zelda is survived by her children, Randy Mordhorst, Diana (Mark) Walter, and Bob (Sue) Mordhorst; seven grandchildren, David Walter, Suzie Vanderweide, Cara Roland, Daniel Walter, and Jason, Cameron, and Trevor Mordhorst; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Muriel (Earl) Diemel, Lillian Saunders, Frank Chadwick and Rayburn Chadwick; sister-in-law, Norma Mordhorst and numerous nieces and nephews.
Zelda was preceded by her husband; parents, Harold and Gracie Chadwick and an infant son, Terry Marvin Mordhorst.
Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Intermittent will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers are David Walter, Jimmy Vanderweide, Daniel Walter, Jason Mordhorst, Cameron Mordhorst, and Trevor Mordhorst. Honorary casket bearers are her brothers and sisters.
