William (Bill) Ellis went to be with the Lord on April 3rd, 2022.
He leaves behind his two daughters, Jennifer Ellis, 27 and Johnna Dieters, 25 (& Mason Dieters); grandchildren, Oliver and Oakley; siblings, Deb Ellis, Steve Suttle and Bob Suttle; and his dear friend and ex-wife, Sandra Ellis; as well as a horde of loved ones, that we can only hope loved him as wholly as he loved them.
We will be remembering him not for his misgivings but instead for his kindness, charisma and sense of humor. Bill would do anything to help the people he loved and give the shirt off his back to a stranger. We will always remember his love of pool (and his long-time pool-league family), camping, fishing, art in any form-specifically his love to write. Everything he wrote had a quiet poetry beneath it. Bill dreamed of someday soon publishing a book highlighting his own personal harrowing struggle with addiction, and the opioid crisis here in America including its heavy effects on veterans. He was a marine during the Vietnam era, which was something he held very close.

Bucket List
“I woke up, looked around, and felt so alone.
I realized I’d stepped out of my comfort zone.
I looked around with mindfulness,
It seems to me life’s full of bliss.
Wallowing around in my bucket of s***,
It’s not the way I prefer to do it.
The reasons behind me wallowing so, from swinging my bucket to and from.
While drinking and drugging kept me in my bucket,
Many a day I wanted to say f*** it.
The only bucket in my life that I want to see,
Is the bucket with the list on it-when they bury me.” -Bill Ellis 03/2022
