William T. Bauer, 86, of Cheyenne, died Monday, May 26th at Kindred Transitional Care.
He was born September 2, 1927 in Denver, Colorado, a son to Theodore S. and Pearl (Saunders) Bauer. William attended schools in Denver and Cheyenne, graduating from Cheyenne High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945. Upon his return, Bill owned and operated Bauer’s Super Service and South Side Conoco.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Past President of the Wyoming Gasoline Association and the Cheyenne Shrine Club, member of the Masonic Lodge, Cheyenne Sheriff’s Posse, and the American Legion. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and visiting with his neighbors. He especially loved his dogs and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Ann Bauer whom he married on June 29, 1963; his parents and a sister, Barbara Tessin.
Survivors include a son, Robert Bauer of Redding, California; three daughters, Michelle Bauer of Center, Texas; Brenda Vosler of Cheyenne and Wendy L. Schell of Molson, Washington; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, June 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
