Wanda Gwen Rice

July 14, 1936 — February 3, 2023

Wanda Gwen Rice was born July 14, 1936 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Dee M. and Fleecie Morton Elliff. She had three older siblings Mary Christine Bailey, Frances Lee Dauterman, and Dee M. Elliff, Jr.
Gwen attended school in Cheyenne throughout her childhood and later Northern Colorado College (UNC). Gwen married P. K. Rice in Cheyenne in May 1966. She worked for the Wyoming State Library as Reference Librarian for 30 years before retiring in July 1995.
Gwen loved Wyoming and was a great supporter of anything Cheyenne. She enjoyed bowling, golf, shooting pool, and water aerobics. Traveling was a favorite pastime. P.K. and Gwen set a goal to visit every major league baseball stadium and tried their best to achieve that goal.
Gwen was a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) sisterhood and the Democratic Party.
She is survived by her stepson Gary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will be at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. The service will be lived streamed at www.wrcfuneral.com beginning at 2:00 pm.
