Vona "Lucille" Goudie, 94, of Cheyenne, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.
She was born on July 30, 1922 in Burns, Wyoming.
Lucille was an exceptional homemaker and life-long child-raiser. Otherwise, "there wasn't a thing she didn't do" which included driving tractors, hauling grain trucks, driving a school bus, riding horses, flying a plane, riding in a hot air balloon, making numerous trips to Hawaii and the mountains, and countless hours spent enjoying family, good music and dancing. She advised to “keep your work up” and prided herself on doing so her entire life, even into her final days.
She is survived by three children (from her marriage to Arlie Black), M. Elaine McCauley (Bert), Dennis Black (Karen), and Rita Kolkman (Dean); three stepchildren from Charles' marriage to Joyce (Crawmer) Goudie, John C. Goudie (Kathy), Lee Ahern (Tammy), and Cindy Cieslak; sister, Wanda Seidl; grandchildren, Desiree Hannabach, Jerry Nuzum (Kimberly), Jolene Leavitt (Mike), Kim Blonigen (Mike), Gina Black, Clint Woods (Amber), and Justin Woods (Elena); step-grandchildren, Tammy Herrera (Rudy), Todd Thomas (Shelley), Sandra Thomas, Shawn Goudie (Jaclyn), Trevor Ahern (Michael), Courtney Blondon (Dylan), Jennifer Favilla and Cody Favilla; great-grandchildren, Natalie Winegar (Dean), Nicole Bartalos (Casey), Jessica Rasby (Shane), Amanda Meyer, Leeann Garner (JT), Dylan Nuzum, Aidan Leavitt, Aramina Leavitt, Erica Watters (Justin), Andy Blonigen, Evan Blonigen, Tyler Woods (Liz) , Braden Woods (Cori), Viviana Woods, and Sabella Woods; great-great-grandchildren, Story Rasby, Shaydyn Rasby, Caydence Rasby, Camry Rasby, Caleb Bartalos, Kyler Bartalos, Kieryn Bartalos, Oakley Anderson, and Maizie Garner.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Goudie; a son, James "Jim" Black; a stepdaughter, Paula J. Standly; her parents, Floyd A. and Vona "Gertrude" (Buford) Byers; six siblings, Doris Fuller, Chester "Alvie" Byers, Floyd "Junior" Byers, Jr., Dorothy Steege, Donald Byers, Margaret Wright; and a granddaughter, Andrée Hannabach.
Services will be Monday, 12:30 p.m, at First Baptist Church.
Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
