Victoria Ann Barela (Martinez), 90, of Cheyenne was surrounded by family Jan. 17 when she went to be with our Heavenly Father.
She was born May 23, 1929, in Eaton, Colo., to Ruben and Geneva Martinez.
She is survived by her children, Max (Susan) Barela, Patsy Barela, Cindy Barela and Danny (Paula) Barela; grandchildren, Dawn Barela, Michelle (Anthony) Ebell, Ian (Maria) Fegan, Kelley Ebell, Erica (Josh) Steiner, Danny Barela Jr. (Anneleisa) and Aspen (Jose) Andrade; 13 great-grandchildren that she loved dearly; and siblings, Joe Martinez, Clara Trujillo, Bernice Martinez and Connie Ramirez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Barela Sr.; parents, Ruben and Geneva Martinez; six brothers; and four sisters.
Victoria worked as a surgical technician at DePaul Hospital for 28 years. After retirement, she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of Legion of Mary Prayer Group and volunteered for the maternity ward.
Vigil for the deceased will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph's Church. Funeral liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will follow at Olivet Cemetery.
