Veronica passed at Davis Hospice Center, Cheyenne WY on March 12, 2024, surrounded by loving family members. She was born on November 17, 1936, in Evanston WY to Emma S. Allard and Charles Allard.
She Married Daniel Scherden on September 24, 1955, and they have 5 Children. Steve, Tim, Anne-Marie Oakman, Joseph, and Donald - All of whom survive her, along with daughter in laws, Sherry and Mary Scherden. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brittany, Christopher, Jessica, Joseph, Cameron Carns, Timmy, Tyler, Jordan, Kade, Autie, April, and Jon Crawford; and three great grandchildren, Audrey WhiteFace, Cameron Cuenca, and Forest Scherden.
Veronica was preceded in death by her father, Charles Allard; mother, Emma Philbrick; stepfather, John Philbrick; brother, Donald Allard; sister, Delores Selby; nephews, Jack Selby, and Tom Allard; nieces, Susan, Joan and Mary Alice Selby and Dorothy Allard.
Veronica attended the University of Wyoming and later in life Laramie County Community College, she worked at Roedel Rexall Drugs, The Denver Post, Hertz Rent-a-Car, National Foods, Credit Bureau Services, and the US Postal Service from which she retired. After retirement she worked for the Country Doctor and Noah’s Ark.
Veronica enjoyed bowling with Dan, watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Mostly, she was so proud of her association with and being a “Friend of Bill’s”. She sponsored many people in the program and hosted meetings for women in the Jails along with her good friend and Cheyenne daughter, Mary Marchand.
A Viewing will be Wednesday, March 20th, from 9-4:00 p.m., at Wiederspan-Radomsky
Funeral Home, with a Vigil for the Deceased to follow at 5:00 p.m. Her Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, March 21, at 10:00 a.m., which will take place at St. Mary’s Cathedral, with interment and a reception to follow.
