Verle E Ellis of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away July 6th at Northern Colorado Long Term Care Hospital in Johnstown, CO. Verle was born in Walsh, CO to parents Ross and LeIla (Carr) Ellis. He attended school and graduated from Walsh High School, Walsh, CO in 1955. He also attended Lamar Community College and graduated from Colorado A& M in 1959 with a degree in Agricultural Education. In 1962 Verle married Lovella Evans in Pritchett, CO and to this marriage three children were born: Daryl, Kevin, and Lisa. Verle and Lovella lived and worked in Colorado and in Torrington, WY before settling in Lusk, WY in 1968. They were later divorced. Verle farmed in the Lusk area and served on the Niobrara County School Board from 1980 to 1989. Verle met his wife, Kaye Jones-Matthews and they were married in 1989. The couple later moved to Cheyenne where he worked as a Realtor until bad health forced him to retire in 2011. Verle treasured every moment he was surrounded by family and his many friends. Verle was a member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge #24, the Shriners, Elks Lodge #1797, in Lusk, Wyoming, and the Grace United Methodist Church, in Cheyenne. He is survived by his wife, Kaye of Cheyenne, WY, son; Daryl Ellis of Lincoln, Nebr., son Kevin Ellis of Parker, CO., and his children, Ashleigh, Kari and Mitchell; daughter Lisa Lussetto of Bridgeport, Nebr., and her husband, Glen and their children, Kyle, Kaleb, and Kolby; step-daughter, Ginger Barthel of Torrington, WY and her husband, Gary; sister, Joyce Ellis; brothers-in-law Russell Palmer and Bill Buxton, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: sisters, Lois Palmer and Loretta Buxton, and step-grandson Geremy Barthel. Memorial services (casual dress) will be held on Friday August 12, 2016 at 2PM at Grace United Methodist Church in Cheyenne, WY with Reverend Laura Rainwater officiating. Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel is in charge of services, and online condolences can be sent to the family at www.wrcfuneral.com . Memorial contributions can be made to the church for funds going to the grounds and landscape in honor of Verle.
