Vashti James, 84, was born to Charles and Gertrude Long on May 22, 1930 in Cheyenne. She passed on to her eternal reward April 9, 2015 in Cheyenne.
She lived in many places while growing up, always returning to the Cheyenne area. She attended Cheyenne High School until she become ill and could not finish her last year.
She met and married Howard James in 1948. They spent 61 years together. To this union was born one daughter and five sons. Vashti was an old fashioned wife, mother and homemaker.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafting, painting, traveling and sightseeing. This lady was supportive of her husband, children and grandchildren, always glad to hear about their activities.
Vashti James is survived by daughter, Carolyn (Walter) Hagemeier of Burns; sons, Chuck (Donna) of Cheyenne, David of Rayville, Louisiana, Bill (Shelby) of Mitchell, NE, Phillip of Livonia, NY and Pat (Naomi) of Carr, Colorado; sister, Margie (Jim) Dreiling; thirteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and sister, Charlene Bates.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will follow at the Burns Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Chuck James, Bill James, Phillip James, Pat James, Sky James, and Jim Dreiling. Honorary casket bearer will by David James.
