Van A. Gray, of Burns, passed away peacefully, January 31st, at CRMC surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on September 30, 1954, in Cheyenne, to Alvin and Marguerite Gray. He graduated from East High School in 1973 and married the love of his life, Janice Andersen in October, 1979. Van was a UPRR Conductor and retired in 2016, after 39 years of service. He enjoyed camping, traveling to NASCAR races, watching his grandchildren play sports, tinkering in his shop, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, children Amber Barrett (Jeremie), Kevin Gray (Lindy), and Stacey Hoffman (Brooks), his 8 grandchildren, sisters, Yvonne Ware and Jody Walter, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Charlie.
A celebration of life is planned February 17th at the CFD Event Center, 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the CFD Crisis Fund.
