Valdean “Val” Call, 87, of Cheyenne, died November 21 at Davis Hospice Center. He was born December 9, 1927 in Yoder, lived in Torrington, Green River, Colorado Springs but has reside in Cheyenne since 1962. Val served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Christian Church, United Brotherhood of American Carpenter Union 469, and the Good Sam Camping Club. He and his wife, Dorothy enjoyed traveling in their 5thwheel. He spent his time outdoors, working in his yard, planting trees, hunting and fishing. He was also a master carpenter for over 30 years. Val is survived by his wife, Dorothy Call; five children, Velta (Ken) Spear, Linda (Alex) Kane, Keith (Dalene) Call, and Valerie (Tim) Rumpf, all of Cheyenne and Marvin (Debbie) Call of Helena, Montana; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mildred Call; and two siblings, Darrell Call and Marie Schreckhise. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at First Christian Church. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may contribute to Davis Hospice Center.
