Tony Meyers

June 27, 1931 — February 26, 2015

Tony Meyers, 83, of Cheyenne passed from this earth February 26, 2015.
He was born June 27, 1931, the first of four boys, to Tony and Ellen Meyers. He was reared and educated in St. Paul, Minnesota.
He attended Cretin Catholic High School and the University of Minnesota.
Tony served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Upon his return, he met Betty Godfrey on a double date. They were married September of 1953 and became the proud parents of four children.
In 1969 they purchased the Coast to Coast hardware store in Spearfish, South Dakota, where their children learned the value of “good customer service”.
Taco Tony, as he became known, purchased the Taco John’s restaurant in Wheatland in 1982. Officially retiring from all of his business endeavors in 2000.
Tony and Betty loved to travel, spending fifteen winters in Yuma, Arizona. They drove their motor home all over the United States and Canada, collecting memories.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, past president of the Cheyenne Shrine Club and past colonel of Cheyenne Frontiersman.
Tony is survived by three children, Dennis (Cindy) Meyers, Cathy (Glenn) Cole and Laurie (Jeff) Mueller of Lingle; daughter-in-law, Kay Meyers; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, a brother, Dan Meyers of Elk Grove, California and beloved cat, Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son, David Meyers; parents; a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Life Commemoration services are 10:00 a.m., Monday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with Rev. Cindy White officiating.
Memorials can be sent to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
