Timothy Ronald Cassel passed away on December 9, 2017 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Tim was born on September 25, 1954 in Cheyenne and grew up in Horse Creek, Wyoming. Tim spent much of his childhood and young adult years in Cheyenne Wyoming.
Tim joined the Army, January 31, 1973. During this time Tim was stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Germany. Tim graduated from St. Mary’s High School August 23, 1974, one year after joining the Army. Tim went on to meet the love of his life, Carolyn, in 1980 and they were then married in 1984.
Tim spent most of his life as an auto mechanic. Tim’s favorite pastimes were spent around auto racing in all its forms. He loved to watch races and even more he loved being behind wheel speeding around the track and pushing his machine to the limits. Tim played on a bowling league and loved to play golf in his spare time, especially with all of his brothers in Cheyenne. Tim loved his Buccaneers and worked so hard to try to instill that love in his grandchildren. He looked forward to cheering for them every season. Tim was an active volunteer in the community, raising funds for the Children’s Hospital. He also did volunteer work for Disabled Vets, Special Olympics, and he was in the process to become a volunteer firefighter. Tim was a giver, honest and pure.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cassel, their children Joshua/Britteny Cassel, Russell/Yvonne Chalifour, David/Yong Chalifour and by six amazing grandchildren; Brianna, Megan, Lauren Chalifour and Brendan, Logan, and Dylan Cassel. Tim is also survived by stepfather Phil Brownell, siblings; Connie McCaslin (Robert), Sid Cassel (Sandy), Gail Cassel (Chris), Mary-Robin Dolan (Chris), Kashawna White (Allen), Bonnie Graeber (Danny), Karoliegh Cassel, Mark Cassel, and Sharon Cassel.
Tim was proceeded in death by his father Glenn Arthur Cassel, mother Mary Lee Brownell, and brother Terry Paul Cassel.
Timothy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and volunteer. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel in Cheyenne, WY at 10 am. Family and friends are then invited to join them at the Moose Lodge for lunch.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that a donation be made in Timothy’s name to the Memorial Children’s Hospital in Colorado Springs.
