Thomas Lacy, 67, of Cheyenne died Thursday, June 19, 2014.
He was born November 16, 1946 in Seattle, Washington to Agnes and Lewis Lacy.
He graduated from St. Mary’s in 1965 and served in the Army during Vietnam.
Thomas served with the Cheyenne Fire Department for 22 years, retiring in 1994.
He then worked for the Department of Defense on base for 17 years, retiring in 2012.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Jackie, whom he married August 27, 1974; two sons, Mike Lacy and Scott Lacy; two step-sons, Dave Ross and Jeff Ross, whom he considered his own; and nine grandchildren.
He was an active Cheyenne Frontier Days HEEL and volunteer for 50 years, member of American Legion Post 6; Knights of Columbus, 3rd and 4th Degree; served as captain of the honor guard for 10 years; member of the Moose and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He served on the board of directors for Laramie County Weed and Pest, for which he was a lobbyist.
In his earlier years he was a bulldogger and team roper.
He loved fishing off his pontoon, camping, and watching old westerns, rodeo, and football.
Thomas was proud of the fact that he owned the Town of Federal and had lived there since 1976.
He dearly loved his grandkids and the family dogs, Sam and Hunter.
Funeral Liturgy will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
