Thomas “Macie” Cross, 82, of Cheyenne, died on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Davis Hospice Center.
He was born on July 19, 1932 in Edison, Nebraska and had lived here since 1956.
Macie was a retired plumber pipefitter for Local 192. He was a combat veteran who served during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy. Macie was a volunteer for the CFD Grounds Committee for over 40 years, loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking, and was a member of the VFW Post 1881, American Legion Post 6, and AMVETS.
He is survived by three sons, Thomas Michael Cross of Torrington, Jimmie Dale Cross of Cheyenne, and Alan Lee Cross (Julie) of Sundance; a brother, Vaughn Cross of Pinedale; twin sisters, Sharon Fleukenger (Gene) of Wisconsin, and Sharol Cross of Nebraska; a brother-in-law, Ralph Johnson (Karen) of Colorado; seven grandchildren, Raymond Macie Cross (Christina) of Cheyenne, Victoria Cross of Spearfish, South Dakota, Carolynn Cross of Cody, Stephanie Cross of Gillette, Dalton Cross of Laramie, Mallory Cross of Gillette, and Forrest Cross of Sundance; five great grandchildren, Zack, Aaron, Dylan, Macix, and Braeden; his cousins, Anita “Toots” and Dale Karl, and Elizabeth Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Cross on October 28, 2008; and his parents, Earl William and Helen Elizabeth (Hayes) Cross.
Timeless Memories services will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
A reception will follow at the Buckle Club.
