Thomas J. Burke, 73, of Cheyenne, passed away on April 1, 2019 after a tough fight with “Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis”. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Tom was born on April 16, 1945 in Los Angeles, California to Jeanne and Thomas Burke.
Tom served in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a supervisor with the United States Postal Service. After his retirement from the Post Office he went to work for GSA at the Federal building where he loved working for the last 16 years. He was very involved at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and lifetime member of WARC.
He loved his Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies! He grew up playing baseball and bowling. He loved anything that involved his grandchildren, Thomas & Allison, especially watching both of them playing basketball at CHS. He loved anything CFD!!
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lanetta Burke, Daughter Gina Burke, Son Tommy Burke (Becki), Grandchildren Thomas and Allison Burke, and extended family Kimberly Kirsch and Kameron Ryan. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tom was preceded in death by his Father Thomas Burke, Mother Jeanne Burke, and brother Patrick J. Burke. His father and mother in law Ray & Rosie Hunt, brothers in law Ed & Hollis Hunt.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Monday, 5:30 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
