Terry Adams (Therese Marie Weidenbach) passed away the morning of September 14, 2014 in Cheyenne.
Terry was born April 15, 1929 in Meadville, PA to Nicholas and Hazel Weidenbach. Terry had an older brother George, a younger brother Mark and two younger sisters Marilyn and Joan. Nicholas was a Great German Chef and the family moved from Meadville to Tucson, Arizona, then to Grand Junction, Colorado. In 1944 the Weidenbach family moved to Cheyenne where Nicholas and Hazel ran the Cheyenne Country club. After running the Cheyenne Country Club for several years they moved to Laramie to run the Laramie Country Club. Terry met the love of her life, Richard H. Adams (Dick) who had just served our country in WW II and had escaped from a German POW camp.
Terry and Dick met on a blind date and a short time later they married on September 18th, 1947, in Cheyenne. Terry and Dick had six children, Gail, Linda, Richard Jr., Christine, Ronald and Russell. She was a life time active member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed gambling in casinos in Deadwood South Dakota, Blackhawk Colorado and Las Vegas. Her hobbies included crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, fishing with her husband, camping, the outdoors and spending time with her family. Terry was a skillful card player often winning at family poker games. Terry had a talent for cooking and was known for her chicken and noodles, green chili, fried chicken, french fries, popcorn and assorted other wonderful dishes by her friends and family. Having worked for Mountain Bell for 20 years she retired to spend more time with her husband and growing family. Terry had 11 grandchildren Richard III, Mirra, Adrian, Brooke, Karah, Amber, Stephanie, Jacob, Nathaniel, Hailey, James and 11 great grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters Linda (Cheyenne & SanTan AZ) and Christine Adams (Loveland CO) and sons Ronald (Rist Canyon CO) and Russell & Nancy Adams (Jackson WY & Cave Creek AZ); brother George Weidenbach (Cheyenne) and sisters Marilyn Leazenby McMullen (Montana) and Joan Rector (Laramie); ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Terry was preceded in death by her husband Richard H. Adams, brother Mark Weidenbach, daughter Gail Adams, son Richard H. Adams, granddaughter Amber Marie Wiechers, and great granddaughter Kylie Rae Hedelius.
Rosary and viewing are scheduled for Wednesday September 17th at Wiederspahn Chapel of the Chimes at 6:00 PM. and Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Thursday September 18th at 2:00 PM. Internment will be at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens following services.
Following the service the family has planned a celebration of Terry’s life.
