Theresa Claire Murdoch, 63, of Carpenter, Wyoming, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 30, 2024. Born on May 31, 1961, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Theresa was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph H. McNamara and E. Irene McNamara.
Raised in the Sun Valley area of Cheyenne, she graduated from East High School in 1979. Theresa married Kirby Murdoch on May 8, 2001. Together, they built their home and life in Carpenter where they continued to farm and care for the Murdoch family land.
A devoted wife, grandmother, and homemaker, Theresa’s passions extended beyond her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as camping, fishing, gardening, sewing, and antiquing. She also loved to spoil and care for their dogs Sasha and Sadie.
Theresa was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, her father-in-law, and her brother-in-law. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Kirby J. Murdoch; her children, Candice L. Hough (Bud) of Cheyenne, and Martin J. Patch of Orange City, Florida; her brother, Sean P. McNamara (Diana); her sisters, M. Catherine Mellott, Genevieve A. Telander (Russel), Celestine “Sally” J. Rojas (Alfonso), L. Susan Palmer (Mack), Georgene C. McNamara-Roberts (Mark), and Jennifer I. Dillinger (Scott) all of Cheyenne. Her cherished grandsons, Evan K. Hough and Blake W. Hough. Seventeen nieces and nephews also survive her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 8th, at 2:00 PM at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel, followed by a reception at the American Legion, Post # 6.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center or the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
