Theresa “Tess” Kemper, 92, of Cheyenne, died Tuesday, October 17th at Davis Hospice Center.
She was born at Chandler, North Dakota on September 17, 1925 to Christian and Margaret (Fix) Schmaltz. She attended Chandler Consolidated School and graduated from Hettinger High School. She graduated from Dakota Business College at Fargo, ND.
Tess started her employment career at Dickinson, ND, from there to Miles City, Montana with the VA. She transferred to the VA in Cheyenne where she completed 30 years with the VA.
Tess married Edward Kemper, who passed away on August 22, 1980. She is also preceded by her parents; and a brother, John Schmaltz.
Survivors include two sisters, Marian Martin, Las Cruces, NM; and Ann Haverluk, Ft. Collins, CO; niece, Patricia Novak of Albuquerque, NM; nephew, Mike Martin of Chicago, Illinois; and very special friends, Karen and Dave Edinger; and Del Rae and Dick Bridger all of Cheyenne.
Vigil for the deceased will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22nd at 4:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be Monday, Oct. 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
