Theodore “Ted” Montoya, 89, of Cheyenne, died on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born on July 2, 1927 in Delta, Colorado and had lived here most of his life.
Ted served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a stationary fireman for the UPRR and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Ted was very artistic and loved to make bolo ties. He enjoyed fishing, but his grandchildren were his life.
He is survived by a son, Thomas Montoya; daughter, Connie Stefano; three brothers, Robert, Johnny, and Leo Montoya; sister, Rosie Clark; four grandchildren, Briana Montoya (Brooke Benson), Dustin Montoya, and Heather and Asa Stefano; and six great-grandchildren.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Montoya; his parents; and two brothers, Leroy and Joseph Montoya.
Cremation has taken place.
