Tamela (Tammy) Kay Thiede, 62, of Cheyenne, passed away on December 15, 2020 in Cheyenne after a brave battle with ALS. She was born on April 18, 1958 in Torrington, Wyoming.
Tammy retired from Cheyenne Regional Medical Center after 40 years, Tammy’s main focus was the oncology department serving as the Oncology Service Line Director. She was passionate about the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center oncology service line and was instrumental in the creation of the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Cancer Center. In addition to her career Tammy loved to draw and scrapbook as well as photograph flowers and wildlife. After her ALS diagnosis she became an active advocate for the Rocky Mountain ALS association.
She is survived by her husband Douglas Thiede, mother, Carol Gaukel, loving sons Jonathan (Amberlee) and Adam, siblings Susan (Mike) Gale and David (Jenny) Gaukel, grandchildren Jackson and Georgia, and sister-in-law Gay (Duane) Kennedy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Tammy was preceded in death by her loving father Robert Gaukel and her father in-law Lloyd and mother-in-law Mavis.
Services will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
