Susan Mae Leach, 71, of Cheyenne, formerly of Rock Springs, joined her loved ones in Heaven on May 20.
Susan Mae Thomas Dunbar Leach was born March 3, 1943, in Crosby Ironton, Minn.
She married at 17 to her first husband, David Harry Dunbar, of Emily, Minn. Susan and her husband could not wait to hear the pitter-patter of little feet, so they started their family of four children: David Frank, Curties Brian, Rene‚ Robin and Troy Allen.
She enjoyed caring for her children and made sure they all had what they needed, mostly a lot of love.
She enjoyed crafting. In her final years, she was a prolific beader.
After losing her second husband, Jim Leach, she was diagnosed with, and waged a brave battle against, lung cancer.
She is survived by her children, David, Curt, Rene‚ and Troy; stepchild, John Leach; grandchildren, Trista, Cara, Michael, Hillary, Ethan, Chris, Mandi, Dustin, Jake, Brandi and Treylynn; six half-brothers and sisters; and great-grandchildren, Xavier, Larissa, Angilo, Jorden, Josh, Jasmine, Jaden, Matthew, Sophilia, J.J., Landon, Nathan, Ethan, Jace, Ashland, Conner and Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Arthur Thomas and Jesse Brenna; husbands, David Dunbar and James Leach; five half-brothers and sisters; and stepmother, Myrtle Thomas.
A memorial will be at 10 a.m. June 14 in the chapel at Whispering Chase in Cheyenne. Services and interment will be conducted in August at the Rock Springs Cemetery.
