Susan J. Kesterke, 75, of Cheyenne, Wyoming died on December 23, 2021 at home with Alan; her husband of 52 years at her side. She was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on July 19, 1946, to
Mark and Calla Krieger. Susie graduated from high school in St. Joseph Michigan, as salutatorian of her class. She then obtained a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a Master’s degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Michigan. She taught mathematics, primarily at the high school level, in Michigan, New Mexico, Montana, Virginia, Colorado and Wyoming. She loved puzzles of all kinds and was an avid fan of University of Michigan sports, especially football and basketball. She was especially grumpy if the Wolverines lost (Go Blue). She never saw a dog she didn’t’ love, was quick to help out a friend or neighbor, loved to organize, and never got tired of bragging about her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her husband Alan; and sons, Kristopher Kesterke (Lark), Dr. Matthew Kesterke (Dr. Nerissa Aksamit); and grandsons, Elias and Dominick.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter in Susan’s name. Family services will be held in the spring.
