Steven Lee Lathrop, 63, of Cheyenne, died on Monday, April 11, 2016 in Cheyenne.
He was born on August 22, 1952 in Boulder, Colorado and had lived in Cheyenne most of his life.
Steve was an assistant manager at O’Reilly Auto Parts and worked in the construction field in his earlier days. He was one of the founders of Small Time Construction. Steve loved trucks, cars, and racing. He was the pit crew chief on the Big Country Speedway 1985 championship team. He liked anything fast and loved his family and his grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his wife, Debbye Balcaen-Lathrop, whom he married on August 18, 1984; two sons, Jacob Fleenor (Trina) of Cheyenne, and Dylan Lathrop of Los Angeles, California; a daughter, Rayme Van Dell (Rich) of Cheyenne; his parents, Carl and Wilma Lathrop of Cheyenne; a brother, Kent Lathrop of Cheyenne; three sisters, Gwen Perdue (Dan) of Cheyenne, Gail Wilson (Clint) of Centennial, Colorado, and Diana Martin of Santa Fe, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Emmaray and Hayden Van Dell, and Jameson and Madeline Fleenor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Life Commemoration services will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
