Stephen Phillip Johansen, 76, was taken into the arms of the Lord on March 23, 2021.
He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Moniel and Phillip Johansen on October 27, 1944.
Steve had 20 years of Honorable military service in the United States Air Force. He retired from FEWARB in Cheyenne in December of 1984. Since his retirement he has worked several civilian jobs in and around Cheyenne. Steve had a full and successful life after his military retirement.
When he finally "really retired" he kept himself busy with his many hobbies and interests. He was a Energizer Bunny (he just kept going and going and going) until he lost his battle with heart disease.
Steve loved his wife, children and his pups, Kia, Attarah and Bosko. He loved his photography, fishing, music, dancing and always sharing a good story, and most of all, he loved serving the Lord. He was a Deacon, a Children's Sunday School Teacher, and very proud to be a Troop Master for Trail Life with Calvary Chapel in Cheyenne. He never met a stranger. Steve is loved by so many and he returned that love in many ways. Always smiling and ready to help his friends, neighbors, even complete strangers. He was a man of Christian service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Cory David; his loyal service dog, Auzz; and a pet dog, Drucilla.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marchia Johansen; a daughter, Darby Kieler (Craig); three grandchildren, Josey, Kayla and Sieara; a daughter, Therese Spalding; a stepson, Tory Mayer (Kristy) and their daughters, McKayla and Britney. Steve is also survived by two sisters, Marolyn Rice (Punk) and Robin Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Calvary Chapel Cheyenne, (please note to direct it to Trail Life Troop 0316 Wyoming) or you can donate to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
A Celebration of Life and military honors will be Tuesday, April 6th, at Calvary Chapel, 11:30 a.m.
