Shirley Jean Pepmeier passed away March 7, 2018 surrounded by family in Cheyenne, WY. She was born August 4, 1937 in Pelican Rapids Village, MN to John and Hansina (Peterson) Svare. She was confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MN. During World War II her family moved to Seattle, WA and later moved back to Minnesota and farmed near Rollag, MN. She was united in marriage to Harold Warren Pepmeier on August 13, 1955 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. The couple lived in Minnesota and Iowa before settling in Cheyenne, WY in 1966.
Shirley was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and retired from Cole Shopping Center Safeway as the Bakery Manager. She enjoyed going to plays and musicals with her friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with family.
She is survived by her sons Michael (Kathy Johnson) Pepmeier, Cheyenne, WY; Gary (Dana) Pepmeier, Cheyenne, WY; Robert (Debbie) Pepmeier, Laramie, WY; her daughter Cindy (Rod) Jensen, Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren: Desiree (Paul) Ives, John (Anna) Pepmeier, Heather Pepmeier-Dunlevy, Tara Johnson, Lauren Jensen, Jessica Mulberry, Cole Jensen, David Mulberry; 13 great grandchildren: Ethan, Lilly, Hunter; Lucy, Zyla, Ziona, Zinnia, Zipporah, Zeke, Darian, Aubreyel, Jadan, and Emma; sister: Lorraine Murray; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Harold Pepmeier in 1999; parents John and Hansina (Peterson) Svare; sisters Marion (Harvey) Johnson; Phyllis Bigner: Patsy (Earl) Lindsay; infant sister Lillian; brothers Harley (Margaret) Svare; and Wallace (Louise) Svare.
