Sherwood Hall, 94, formerly of Cheyenne, died April 13th at Brookdale Memory Care in Ft. Collins, Colorado. He was born April 4, 1922 on the family farm in West, West Virginia to Henry and Lulu Hall. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in May 1940 and retired in June 1962. He was commissioned a second Lieutenant in the Army Chemical Warfare Service in May of 1943 and served as a chemical warfare officer and incendiary bomb specialist until May 1947. Sherwood also served one year in Korea in 1955. He met Alma Maurer in 1943 while both were serving in the Armed Forces. They were married in January 1946 at Westover AFB, MA. Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1962, he was employed in Civil Service as a personnel management specialist. He retired at FE Warren AFB in 1977. Sherwood is survived by his children; Darlene (Joe) Waggoner of Nash, OK and Gerald (Roxane) Hall of Cheyenne, and granddaughter Julie (Mike) Price of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his wife Alma, son Roger, and sisters Beryl and Shirley. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at St Mary’s Cathedral at 10 am on Wednesday April 20th and interment with military honors immediately following the service at Beth El Cemetery.
