Shepherd M. “Shep” Pinney, Sr., 70, of Cheyenne, died on Friday, August 12, 2016 in Cheyenne.
He was born on June 22, 1946 in San Mateo, California and grew up in San Jose, California. He had lived in Cheyenne since 1984.
Shep retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling jokes, Elvis Presley, starting water fights, being ornery, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Pinney, whom he married on September 12, 1998 in Cheyenne; his children, Shepherd M. Pinney, Jr. (Stephanie) of Bossier City, Louisiana, Diane Barton (Bill) of Williamsburg, Michigan, Michelle Ammerman (Kent) of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Melissa Andersen (Gary) of Cheyenne, and Marti Crawford (Eloy) of Cheyenne; a brother, Bob Pinney of DeForest, Wisconsin; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert Buce of Cheyenne; brother and sister-in-law Patsy and Jim Donaldson of Kingsport, Tennessee; and his dogs, Precious, Miss Priss, and Rupert.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine A. Sunn; his sister, Carolyn Bruce; and his parents, William and Lenora Pinney.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 10;00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Services will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Cremation will follow the services.
The family would like to thank the Davis Hospice Center staff for the patience and understanding for Shep’s hospice and respite care. They would also like to thank AMR for creating Shep’s Precious Journey of a final fishing trip and all of the first responders that were there to help when needed.
