Shelly Lynn (Harris) Ward, 43, of Cheyenne passed away peacefully in her home April 25th due to a sudden cardiac event from a congenital heart defect.
Born August 7, 1972 in Columbus, Ohio, raised on a farm in Johnstown Ohio she made Cheyenne, WY her home for the past 9 years. A Battelle Scholar and graduate of The Ohio State University, Shelly was educated as a physical therapist where her nurturing talents shone brightly. She was proud to be a farm girl and Buckeye at heart. Her love for all animals was a beautiful inspiration. Her short life was full of interests and talents but her job of MOM was her most important priority. Shelly and Blake enjoyed camping, fishing, shooting range, soap making, canoeing, 4-H, cooking, archery, tie dying, scouts, and fostering through Black Dog Animal Rescue to name a few.
She is survived by her beloved son, Blake Ward; parents, Karl and Linda Harris of Johnstown, Ohio; sister, Stacy (John) Harris Marlowe of Huntersville, North Carolina; special friend, Nathan Lechman and former husband, Charles Ward. Also, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews from across the globe.
Viewing will be 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. with family present 5-7 p.m., Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Reception luncheon immediately follows service at The Plains Hotel, Downtown Cheyenne.
A memorial service to be held in Ohio in coming weeks.
