Sheila Summerlin, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Cheyenne, Wyoming on May 11, 2016.
She was born in Tulsa, OK, on April 15, 1951, to the late Charles and Fanny Summerlin. She is survived by her two sons, Jesse (Amber) and Winston "Cole" (Lori) Barnhart, two siblings, Jonny and Terri Summerlin and nine grandchildren, Tyler, Noah, Eden, Maya, Cole Jr., Mason, Maddox, Phoenix and Deklin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Sheila graduated from Laramie County Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree in Journalism. She was a brilliant writer/editor and received multiple awards for her diverse publication skills. For several years, she worked as the editor and layout designer for the High Plains Register Literary/Arts Magazine. She also served as the President of the Wyoming Media Professionals.
In her free time, she enjoyed reading science fiction literature, gardening, photography, listening to soft rock, cycling and travel.
Sheila is loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16 at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel in Cheyenne, WY.
