Serena Mae Wardell, 49, of Cheyenne passed away Jan. 29 in Loveland, Colo., with her family by her side, due to injuries resulting from a stroke she suffered at her home a week prior.
Serena was born May 20, 1969, in Cheyenne to Gary and Cheryl Tottenhoff.
She spent much of her life in Cheyenne and attended Cheyenne Central High School. She worked as a property manager and prior to that as an executive secretary, and also for the Wyoming State Legislature.
Serena was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, aunt, friend and stand-in mom for her boys’ friends. Serena loved God, horses, the old West and the simple way of life. She was a former member of the Dandies and the Golden Spike Riders. She loved every person she came into contact with, but more than anything, she loved her three boys.
She is survived by husband F. Leigh Clay; grandmother, Ethel Couch; mother, Cheryl Tottenhoff; three children, Levi, Taylor and Colten Wardell; and a host of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by father, Gary Tottenhoff.
Memorial celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Element Church, 600 E. Carlson St. in Cheyenne.
