Sandra Lynne (Treat) Cohick

February 11, 1959 — August 26, 2021

If sufficient words for this type of grief have been coined, I am not aware of them, so if I stumble while writing this it is because these feelings are unexplainable, words simply… fail.
Sandra Lynne Cohick (Treat), 62, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed peacefully into the arms of Our Lord Surrounded by her family on August 26, 2021 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The peace she passed with was a peace that has carried her,It is a peace bound in love that she passed on to everyone that knew her.
Sandy was born February 11th 1959, in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, to Mary N. (Renninger) Treat and Andrew C. Treat she was the second child born into a loving and soon to be large family. She grew up in , Sabinsville Pa, working the dairy farm, and attending school with her siblings, she was a member of the FFA, won a beauty pageant, raced snowmobiles, gave speeches, rode in parades… she grew up surrounded by literally dozens of Aunts, Uncles and cousins. I would mention them all here, however there are just too many. Sandy was raised by Mary and Andrew to know love, family and laughter and to share that love of life with all. She carried this love and kindness with her throughout her life and shared it generously with everyone she met.

This was a woman who could light up a room simply by entering it. She glowed from the inside with a light that burned brighter than any star. She was exciting, she was warm, and she brought a sense of calm to every situation. Her very presence was comforting no matter what the situation was.
She was a Fighter, a Warrior, a Survivor but the greatest of them all She was a Wife and a Mother. Sandy stood by her husband John’s side throughout his military career that involved picking up and starting over many times, the death of their daughter (Tina Rennae Cohick), and that of her father ( Andrew Claud Treat), She survived thyroid cancer, broken arms, aching knees, tired sleepless nights, severely ill children and all of the drama that comes from being a mom to three crazy little girls, being a teacher to many beloved and sometimes hectic students (her daughters among them), while also working outside of the home, she raised myself Regina T. (Cohick) Hughes, Tisha R. Cohick and Charity M. Cohick through our teenage years and into adulthood, where she was blessed by gaining another daughter , Amy Still and two sons in Nicholas J. Hughes and Phillip Hayle. Her sister Pamela J. (Treat) Swimley and her Husband Timothy K., Her Brother Earl L. and his wife Gerri (Clarke) Treat, Gerald A. and his wife Shelley (Phillips) Treat, her brother Kevin L. and his wife Annette (Trowbridge) Treat and Russel S. and his wife Paula (Dix) Treat.
Together they would form an amazing bond of love and laughter that will last for generations.
Her laughter and love of life. I don’t even know where to start, she was a friend and mother to an untold number of people who loved her, she was an aunt to so many nieces and nephews that I cannot begin to count them all. She was the best cook I have ever seen and her Lasagna was out of this world phenomonal. She was a giver, watching someone’s eyes light up at the smallest of things blessed her heart and made her day even brighter. She was my mom and even while she was extremely ill she laughed and told us stories that brought us all back to better times. She taught all of us that life is fun, and it needs to be lived. When she would get angry or upset you would hear things like “fluffernutter” and “H-E-Double hockeysticks” or “Brownies”. I never hear a word of hate or disdain pass her lips.
There is nothing in the world that does not become a little easier with love, laughter and family and her family has grown so much, it includes all of those she has met and loved along her path, and it encompasses people from all over the world. She was and will always be a guiding light for all of us.
There are not the words that I need in existence. Some feelings simply do not translate into speech (or writing).
What are the words that describe her love and devotion to her Grandchildren Skully Stilgorick, Krysta Reeves-Hughes, Braeden Cohick-Hughes, Keyleyn Cohick-Stoner, Connor and Keridwynn Cohick-Stoner and Tyler Dugan-Hughes. I can’t say those words for them, but the love between these children and their beloved MaaMaaw was and always will be one of the Greatest sights on earth.
The words to describe her devotion and love for her husband and protector John Cohick and his Love for her, surpassed everything you always dream of love to be. He kept her safe from the moment he met her and was always by her side. I can’t put his feelings into words either.
The sense of loss and emptiness that Tisha, Charity and I am feeling?
I have no more words to write. All I have is love, all we have is love as a family and our treasured memories with her. Her love for her friends who will eventually find their own words to express her light, and who will remember the love she gave.
