Sandra Lee Curtis May 17, 1947 – March 27, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sandra Lee Curtis, on March 27, 2025. She was born on May 17, 1947, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Curly and Eleanor Pavlovic. Sandra’s life was defined by perseverance, kindness, and an unwavering love for her family.
As a “Shriner Baby,” Sandra was born with a modified clubfoot, a condition that was successfully treated thanks to the expert care of doctors at Shriner Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1960, the Pavlovic family relocated to Salt Lake City Utah.
Sandra graduated from East High School in 1965 and soon returned to Cheyenne, where she began her career with the Union Pacific Railroad. It was here that she became the proud mother of two beautiful children, Cathy Curtis and Danny Curtis.
In the 1970s, Sandra moved back to Salt Lake City to work for Union Pacific Health Systems, where she would dedicate the next 41 years of her life. Throughout her career, Sandra formed lasting friendships and earned a reputation for her fun loving attitude and strong work ethic.
Outside of her career, Sandra had a passion for cars, tending to her flower gardens, filling photo albums with cherished memories, and crocheting beautiful blankets for her family and friends. After retiring in 2007 at the age of 60, Sandra moved to Emmett, Idaho, where she embraced a new chapter of life. She traveled with new friends, always willing to lend a helping hand to her neighbors. She particularly enjoyed helping Doug and Katrina on their farm, where she affectionately earned the title of the “Green Bean Picker.”
In October 2024, Sandra returned to Cheyenne to be with her daughter, Cathy, her granddaughters Brittney and Avyahnna, and her great-grandsons Izayas and Ki’yiar, with whom she shared a special bond.
Sandra was a kind, generous soul who found beauty in life’s simplest moments. She is survived by her daughter Cathy, her son Danny (who preceded her in death), her grandchildren Brittney (and great-grandson Izayas), Avyahnna (and great-grandson Ki’yiar), her sisters Pam Pavlovic, Katrina Pavlovich, her brother Mark Pavlovich and Cindi Pavlovich Huddleston. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Curly and Eleanor Pavlovic, and her son, Danny Curtis.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cottonwood Creek, Sandra’s Physician Assistant Amy Shaw, and Eden Hospice for their compassionate care and support during her final days.
Sandra’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her spirit will forever be cherished. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
