Ruben Garcia, 83, of Cheyenne, passed away May 14th at his home.
He was born May 18, 1935 in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico to Agustin and Anita Garcia.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1959 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA.
He married the love of his life, Angie, November 21, 1959 in Craig, CO. They settled in Cheyenne where they raised their seven children. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 25 years of service.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, watching the Denver Broncos and pulling pranks.
He is survived by his wife Angie, his children; Olga Garcia, Yolanda Jacoby (Robert), Reuben Garcia (Kathi), Gloria Garcia (Gina), Veronica Bowen (John), Cathie Maestas (Mike) and Andrew Garcia (Sabrina), sisters; Elsiria Martinez, Eulalia Lucero, Grace Chacon (Maggie), brothers; Cipriano Garcia (Lillian) and Joe Garcia, grandchildren, David, Robert, Jaclyn, Chris, Ashley, Ruben, Melissa, Raychel, Jacob, Candace, Eric, Brandon, Nicholas, Daniel, Lacey, Austin, Aaron and Jordan, along with twenty three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Braulio and Junior and a grandson Marcus Garcia.
He was a great man who will be greatly missed by many.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Sunday, 4:00 p.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Funeral Liturgy will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
