Roy Page

April 9, 1928 — December 2, 2019

Roy Page, 91, of Cheyenne left this earth peacefully Dec. 2.
He was born April 9, 1928, in Oolitic, Ind. Roy spent his childhood in Southern Indiana, where he grew up with the nickname “Cotton”; a name earned by the light blonde curls that covered his head. Most who knew him as an adult, never knew that his smooth pate was once covered by an abundance of hair.
After graduating from high school, Roy joined the U.S. Army. He often talked about the time spent in Italy while serving our country. The highlight of this time was an audience with Pope Pius XII, where he received a Papal Medallion. He treasured the memory, the medallion and the honor his entire life.

Throughout his life, Roy was active in many community organizations. He was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers, one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the world. As an avid golfer, he volunteered for the Wyoming Open and is personally credited with five holes in one. His greatest community contribution was his devotion to Cheyenne Frontier Days. Roy served on various committees for 47 years; most recently on the Concessions Committee. He became a Heel in 1980 and received his Silver Heel in 2019.
Roy is survived by his wife, Lorraine Page; daughter, Pam Ratajczyk; two stepdaughters, Cindy Marquardt and Jody Price; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous step-grandchildren.
At Roy’s request, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be announced later.
