Roy I. Krause, 95, of Cheyenne died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in Cheyenne.
He was born July 21, 1919 in Montrose, Colorado and had lived here most of his life.
Roy served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater and later worked for the civil service.
He was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church and American Legion Post 6. He enjoyed playing cards, horseshoes, bowling, fishing, making string art and was well known for his cooking and baking.
Roy is survived by five children, Gary (Allisa) Krause; Beverly (Luther) Krause Parker, Sharon (Chuck) Payton and Jackie (Tim) Brand; two brothers, Fred and Robert Krause; two sisters, Mary DeWall and Bertha Davis; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; son, Richard Roberts; parents, Fred and Ella Krause, Sr.; two brothers, George and Paul Krause and three sisters, Lulu Autio, Anna Graham, and Barbara Fridley.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with Pastor Darryl Smith officiating. Interment to follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers are Shaun Roberts, Chris Gleckler, Chad Roberts, Kevin Clark, Luke Parker, Jr., and Kelly Soich.
Honorary bearers are Jeremy Roberts, Logan Parker, Joe Krause, and Chris Love.
Military honors provided by the American Legion and Wyoming Army National Guard honor teams.
