Roxann Edith (Janzen) Padget, 67, died suddenly Saturday, November 15, at her home in Table Mountain Ranches, west of Cheyenne, with her husband at her side.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 21, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Roxann was born July 22, 1947, in Cheyenne to Robert and Edith Janzen and was the youngest of three children. She attended Cheyenne schools, and was active in several extracurricular activities and enjoyed band. She graduated from Cheyenne Central High in 1965.
Roxann then enrolled at the University of Wyoming where she met and later married her husband Mike on October 6, 1966, at the First Methodist Church in Cheyenne. The start of Mike and Roxann’s married journey began with a brief stay in Rawlins in 1967 where Mike worked for the Rawlins Daily Times as a reporter. From there, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Roxann was a casualty adjuster for Allstate insurance while Mike worked for the Albuquerque Journal.
In 1973, the young couple, homesick for Wyoming and the way of life they cherished, returned to Rawlins. In Rawlins, the young family set up roots and found a home to raise their family as Mike served with the Rawlins Fire Department. In the many years they lived there, she was a devoted wife and mother first and foremost, but also enjoyed many special friendships and business acquaintances. She worked at Carbon County Credit Bureau as an assistant manager and then launched what would become a lengthy career in the medical field, working with the late Dr. Daniel Kline, and later Dr. Chandra.
In 1994, the Padget family returned to Cheyenne, where Roxann was employed by Dr. Jonathan Singer as Office Manager, a position she enjoyed up until her death.
She enjoyed time with friends and family, loved frequent family outings to the Janzen family cabin, but most of all enjoyed her quiet time with her husband in the dream home that they built together.
Roxann is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Padget of Cheyenne; her mother Edith Janzen of Cheyenne; brothers: Gerald and wife Judy Janzen of Portland, Oregon; Jon Janzen of Cheyenne; daughter Michelle and her husband Kerry Fletcher of Cheyenne; James and wife April Padget of Rawlins; Robert and wife Anastasia Padget of Torrington; father-in-law George Padget of Cheyenne; sister-in-law Sharon and her husband Harry Moore of Cheyenne; grandchildren: Jason, Kayla, Emily, Becky, Tyler, Christopher, AmandaLee, Julieanya, and Emmalyn. She is also survived by her loving pets: Beau, Callie Jane, and Snowy, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her father, Robert Janzen of Cheyenne, and son, Christopher Michael Padget of Rawlins.
Memorials may be made to the fantastic responders who tried so hard to revive her--American Medical Response ambulance service, and the Laramie County Fire District #8.
