Rosile Martinez, 67, of Cheyenne, died on February 26, 2024 in Cheyenne.
She was born on August 20, 1956 in Laramie, Wyoming. She moved to Cheyenne where she met and married her high school sweetheart of 49 years. Rose was a child care teacher at La Petit before she was blessed with the opportunity to stay at home full time to care for her children and grandchildren. Rose loved being surrounded by her family and watching the game show channel, wrestling, and little league world series baseball.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent Martinez, her children, Bernadette Herrera, Jessica Martinez, and Sasha Martinez (Manuel Fonseca), her daughter-in-law Sheila Martinez, all of Cheyenne. Two brothers, Jerry Barela (Elaine) and Paul Barela, both of Cheyenne; five sisters, Mary Ochoa (Noel), Paula Garcia (Jose), and Dorothy Tinajero (Javier), all of Cheyenne, Mary Locklin of Hondo, Texas, and Mabel Garcia of Fort Collins, Colorado. Her grandchildren, Izrael, Josiah, and Alijah Pena, Izaak, Amerina, Meeah, Gabriel, Aubriana, and Alexis Martinez, Izabella Teniente, Angel and David (Jr) Herrera, Carlos and Amayah Fonseca, 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents Precilano and Ursulita Barela, her brother James Barela, her sister Julia Barela, her son Jason Martinez, her nieces Tracy Valdez, Mary Garcia and her nephew Roman Garcia.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Thursday, 5:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
