Rosemary Mcadam

May 17, 1953 — August 27, 2019

Rosemary McAdam (Benson), was born May, 17th 1953, to Lycurgus and Elizabeth Benson, in Rapid City, South Dakota. She was raised on a small farm outside of Philip, South Dakota. She graduated from Eagle Butte High School in 1971. She then attended college classes before enlisting in the Army.

While serving she was married to Dwight Pedersen and she had a son, David D. Pedersen. They served overseas in Germany until 1980 and then returned home to live in Julesburg, Colorado. She then was blessed with a baby girl, Desiree V Smith. She divorced soon after and a couple of years later, was married to Gary McAdam. She had met her Lord and Savior and chose to live a life that honored that relationship from that point forward.

She was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church in Sidney, Nebraska. She was a wonderful mother, wonderful sister, hard worker, faithful friend, and animal lover. She went back to school and started working in medical records. She was divorced several years later.

Rose moved to Cheyenne in 2012, where she worked at the VA until medical retirement. Her work with veterans was one of the things she loved most about her life. Honoring those who had served was how she wanted to live. She will be missed.

She passed away on August 26, 2019, after a short hospitalizations. She had been suffering health problems and debilitating pain. She was welcomed into her heavenly Father's waiting arms that day.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her brother Remy Benson, daughter Desi Smith, son in law Caleb Smith, grandson William Smith, son David Pedersen, and a multitude of family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, 12-7, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with a reception coinciding with the visitation from 4-6 at The Gathering Place.
