Rosalie J. Rodgers, 80, of Cheyenne, WY, passed away Saturday July 18, 2015 at Davis Hospice Center. Services will be held at the LDS Church, 3312 E. Lincolnway in Cheyenne Tuesday, July 28th at 2pm. Viewing will be Monday, July 27th at Wiederspahn-Radmosky Chapel from 12-8pm. Interment will be at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be made to the Humane Society.
Rosalie was born December 30, 1934 in Rock Springs, WY to "Jack" and LeVaun Powers, graduating Cheyenne High School in 1953.
Rosalie retired as a Medical Transcriptionist from the VA and Cheyenne Radiology.
Rosalie loved camping/fishing and time with friends and family. She was an accomplished honky-tonk pianist playing with her group, "Rosie and the Wheels." She played with the Diamonds and Roy Clark during Cheyenne Frontier Days and numerous other venues. Rosalie was State Musician for the Eagles Lodge for many years.
Rosalie was the first woman recipient of the Dale Carnegie Humanitarian Award and also coached junior bowling. Survivors include her children; Dale (Vickie) Carter of Aurora, Colorado; and Clinton Falkenberry and Brenda (Orville) Crane of Cheyenne; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, half-brother Jackie Powers, and two sons.
