Rosalba G. Venegas, 59, of Cheyenne, died peacefully Friday, April 17th at her home.
She was born January 22, 1956 in Juarez, Mexico, the daughter of Benito A. and Celia G. (Guardiola) Melendez, Sr.
Rosalba was married to Alfonso E. Venegas on June 17, 1976 in El Paso, Texas. They moved in 1976 to Medicine Bow, Wyoming and later to Cheyenne in 1982.
Mrs. Venegas was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and also belonged to the Church prayer group. She loved to sing, dance, sew, cook and spend time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Alfonso E. Venegas of Cheyenne; her mother, Celia G. Melendez of Commerce City, Colorado; four daughters, Alejandra G. Venegas, Claudia G. Sanguinito, Edna G. Venegas, all of Cheyenne; Melina G. Venegas of Denver, Colorado; seven brothers, Armando Guardiola; Santos G., Sergio G., Cipriano G., Saul G., Benito G. Jr., and Juan Carlos G. Melendez, all of the Denver Metro Area; three sisters, Maria de Lourdes G. Melendez; Carolina Cisneros and Elisa G. Melendez-Eisman, all of the Denver Metro Area, and three grandchildren, Clavel Guzman of Okinawa, Japan; Michael S. Guzman Jr. and Rene A. Guzman, both of Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her father, Benito A. Melendez Sr.
Vigil and Rosary will be Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, April 24th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery.
