He was born September 26, 1994 in Cheyenne and had lived in Las Vegas, NV and Cheyenne, WY, where he graduated from Central High School in 2013. He wrestled and played varsity football for four years.
He was preceded in death by grandfather Jay Cotton of Cheyenne, Ron Panos of Cheyenne, Bob Buckles of Cheyenne, and aunt and uncle Christine and Casey Cotton of Cheyenne.
R.J. was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, backpacking, and snowboarding. He was always on the go and had a passion for life. He was known to brighten any room he entered and his presence was intoxicating to all that were fortunate enough to meet him.
He loved animals and helping kids.
He was a loving son, brother, uncle and cousin.
He is survived by his parents, Timothy Cotton and Evamarie (Panos) Cotton, both of Cheyenne; brother, Cody, and his wife, Kelsey Cotton of Burns; grandparents, Irene Panos and Marge Buckles, both of Cheyenne; aunts and uncles, Tina and Mark Slizeski of Cheyenne, Michael and Brenda Cotton of Las Vegas, Nevada; nephew, Callum Cotton and numerous cousins.
Trisagion services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with Father Jason Dickey as celebrant. Cremation will follow. A Celebration of life will be 5:00 p.m., Thursday at the Kiwanis Community House in Lions Park.
