Ronald P. Downey, 75, of Cheyenne, died on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Davis Hospice Center.
He was born on November 7, 1939 in Casey, Illinois.
Mr. Downey was an aircraft cargo worker for the Wyoming Air National Guard. He was a member of Highlands Presbyterian Church, Moose Lodge #257, and American Legion Post 6. Ron enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, camping, watching Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos games, and making hand churned homemade ice cream.
He is survived by his wife Millie; three sons, David, Ron (Diane), and Jeffrey (Brenda); two daughters, Lori Fanning (Dennis) and Valerie Millhouse (Eric); brother, Roger (Kathy); sister, Joyce Butler (Dave); grandchildren, Bret and Kyle Fanning, Drew Downey, Tyler and Michael Downey, Ashley and Alex Millhouse, Amanda McCorkle (Daniel), Brandalynn Downey, and Isabelle DeLois; and two great-grandchildren, Selena Millhouse-Cole and Stefan McCorkle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don and Dwight; and a grandson, Isaiah Scott Downey.
Life Commemoration services will be Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
