Ronald Joseph "Ron" DeLong, died February 6, 2017 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. He was born May 15, 1967 in San Francisco, California to Carden Ronald (Ron) and Ditto (Williamson) DeLong. He married Marci Dunigan on May 18, 1991 in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in July 1991.

Ron worked as a General Manager for Circle K from April 2000 to May 2016. Prior to his work experience with Circle K, he worked for Sapp Brothers, Flying J Travel Center, Renzenberger Incorporated, as well as previous jobs in California. Ron took great pride in his work and was loved by his employees and supervisors.

In his spare time, Ron was an active amateur radio operator under the calls sign N7RJD since December 2007. He owned and operated an extensive radio collection from the basement of his home, exchanging and collecting amateur radio call sign cards with various operators around the world. In addition to his many communications, Ron held an "Amateur Extra" operating privilege and enjoyed administering amateur radio license exams, even helping his oldest daughter earn her operator license shortly after. He was an Amateur radio instructor at Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado from 2007-2009.

His youngest daughter, Kristan worked in his nursing home and helped care for him. Her nickname "Bobo" was a special name that he gave her.

Before his amateur radio license, Ron was very active in CB radio communications under the call signed. Ron". Ron also owned an extensive scanner collection and enjoyed listening to his scanner while driving, often driving to the locations of reported accidents or fires.

A former mechanic, Ron loved his Ford F-150 truck. Ron also loved working on computers and could always be counted on to repair and restore computers, whether as a hobby for himself or as a favor to others. He loved lighthouses, owls, trains, fish, birds and dogs. He owned several dogs throughout his life and at one point owned and maintained 3 aquariums in his home. He also owned and cared for four birds.

Ron is survived by his wife, Marci (Dunigan) DeLong of Cheyenne, two daughters, Ashley Marshall (John) and Kristan DeLong (Chris) both of Cheyenne, one granddaughter, Mykayla Marshall of Cheyenne, a grandson Zane Marshall of Cheyenne, his parents Carden Ron and Ditto (Williamson) DeLong of Wichita Falls, Texas, two brothers Owen DeLong and John DeLong (Kathy) both of California, a sister Katherine Pecka (Tim) of Wichita Falls, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Owen and Dorothy Williamson and paternal grandparents CJ and Catherine DeLong.

Cremation has taken place through Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Friends who wish may contribute to the Diabetes or Kidney Foundation, Animal Rescue or Amateur Radio
