Romona Lorraine Carns, 93, of Cheyenne, died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at University Hospital in Denver.
She was born February 23, 1921 in Sumner, Nebraska to Thomas and Nellie Caselton. Lorraine married Kenneth Wever Carns on December 28, 1941. They moved to Cheyenne in 1943, and raised their children, Kenneth and Rocky, where she lived in their originally constructed home from 1956.
Lorraine retired from the Wyoming Highway Department in 1983, having served many dedicated years. In her retirement, she enjoyed a large circle of friends including members of the First Christian Church of Cheyenne, Bridge Club, swimming “Mermaids” aerobics, and volunteer work at Cheyenne Regional Medical gift shop.
She was preceded in passing by her father and mother, Thomas and Nellie Castelton; her brother Gordon; husband Kenneth; and son Kenneth.
In addition to her many friends in Cheyenne, Lorraine loved her grandchildren; Carrie, Cody, Cameron and Jordan.
She is survived by her sister, Meredith of Cheyenne, son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and Julie of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and her beloved grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel at 2:00 p.m.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
