Roger L. Hovel, 68, of Cheyenne died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 3, 1947 in Haxtun, Colorado and had lived here in Cheyenne for the past 13 years.
He owned and operated Country Meat Shack in Ault, CO and retired from the Ault Fire Volunteer Department before moving to Cheyenne and opening Crow Creek Meat Processing.
Roger enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, beekeeping, gardening, being a stable hand for their horses, and watching hockey and tennis.
He was always busy working on something and enjoyed cooking and catering. Since Roger was hard working man, if you plan to attend services, please wear your working or casual clothes.
Roger is survived by his wife, Donna, whom he married November 25, 1992; four children, Jennifer Morgan of Greeley, Colorado, Julie Small of Kearney, Nebraska, Amber Woods of Cheyenne, and Shaw Talbot of Cheyenne; mother, Glenda Hovel of Sterling, Colorado; brother, Terry Hovel of Haxtun, Colorado; sister, Pam Morris of Mesa, Arizona and four grandchildren, Ashlyn Bailey, Holden Morgan, Payton Bailey, and Sawyer Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Loren Hovel.
