Roberta “Bobbie” J. Valent, 75, of Cheyenne, died on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Davis Hospice Center.
She was born on August 1, 1940 in Great Bend, Kansas and had lived here for 21 years.
Bobbie loved to cook, garden, and sew. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she enjoyed getting the family together. Her senior year in high school, she was the Homecoming Queen, a cheerleader, and half-court basketball player.
She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Valent, whom she married on May 23, 1980 in Laramie; a son, Troy Crockett (Joyce) of Cheyenne; a daughter, Tracy Fulton (Keith) of Cheyenne; a brother, Virgil Gatton (Vinita) of Hudson, Kansas; two sisters, Marilyn Needham (Fred) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Jackie Brown (Leroy) of Valley Center, Kansas; five grandchildren, Britttanie Walsh (Grayson), Ethan Crockett (Ruth), Erin Fulton, Tori Fulton, and Sydnie Crockett; a great granddaughter, Sage Walsh; a sister-in-law, Karen Kramp; her stepmother, Faye Gatton; and several nieces and nephews.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, R.D. and Lucille Gatton; a brother, Leland Gatton; and a sister, Marilyn Needham.
Life Commemoration services will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
