Roberta Lucille Jackson Rhoades 96, of Chugwater, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, at her home, at Edgewood Assisted Living.
Roberta was born May 19, 1919 in Cheyenne.
She was educated and graduated from the Iowa Flats School. Roberta married Earnest E. Rhoades of Slater, February 28, 1947. Roberta and Earnest farmed and ranched in the Chugwater community until their retirement. Roberta was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Chugwater serving as Sunday school teacher, pianist, organist and choir member. She was also a member of the Octavo Music Club and of the Wives’ Study Guild. Roberta was named Platte County Ranch Woman of the Year in 1985.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Karla; husband, Earnest; and siblings, Maureen Enix, Paul Jackson, Warren Jackson, and Carol Haydon.
She is survived by her son, Allen Rhoades (Judy) of Chugwater; son, Leon Rhoades (Joyce) of Edgewater, FL; daughter, Betty Stewart of Edgewater, FL; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 30th at the Chugwater Valley Church in Chugwater at 11:00 a.m.
