Robert “Bob” Willett, 83, passed away into the loving arms of our Lord and his wife Martha on February 4, 2016 at Cheyenne VA Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 9, 1932 in Boston MA and lived there until the military and eventually was stationed at WAFB, where he met Martha “Marty” Cummings, also serving at WAFB. They were married on May 9, 1952 in Fort Collins Colorado. He had varied employment in Cheyenne, Boston, and Ohio. His career as a heavy equipment operator took him to Colorado, New Mexico, and eventually back to Cheyenne where the raised their 5 children. Bob worked for Simon Contractors as an operator for over 30 years and also taught at LCCC Construction Trades program for Heavy Equipment Operators, and was Owner/Operator of Willett Salvage. Bob was known for his unconventional sense of humor and Boston accent. He was proud of the fact that there were 3 generations of his family working at Simon Contractors and that his sons and grandsons had followed in his footsteps. Bob is survived by five children; Diana (Sean) McNamara, Andy (Lari) Willett, Bobby, (Terry) Willett, John Willett and Laura Cooper; 13 grandchildren; Christy, Angela, Elizabeth, Joshua, Colby, Chad, Misty, Amanda, Justin, Nathan, Evan, Levi, Wyatt, and Sandi; 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. A Life Commemoration Service along with military honors will be held on Wednesday February 10, 2016 at 11am at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
