Robert “Bobby” “Peanuts” Trujillo, Jr., 50, of Rock Springs, passed away July 15, after battling Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). It was the fight of his lifetime but he went out a champion.
Bobby was born August 17, 1964 in Rock Springs, to Robert Trujillo and Alice (Martinez) Ussery.
He moved to Tucson, Arizona, Cheyenne, Farmington, New Mexico and later back to Rock Springs. He married Kathy Sanchez April 28, 1984, later divorced. They reconnected and had a wonderful friendship.
Bobby was very family oriented. His interests include boxing and working out. He was a boxer all of his life turning pro at 40. He was the first to “shoot hoops” with his sons, brother, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his parents, Robert A. Trujillo, Sr. of Cheyenne and Alice (Johnny) Ussery of Folsom, California; daughter, Melissa Trujillo (Kelly Wilkinson); grandchildren, Joe and Stormy, whom he adored; sons, Robert Trujillo III (Rainey) and Matthew Trujillo (Kindra), all of Rock Springs; sister, Cindy Larsen (Mervin) of Minot, North Dakota; brother, Vince Trujillo (Delia); sisters, Becky Trujillo (Rodney Battle); Colleen Montoya (Ray), Colet Richardson (David), all of Cheyenne and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews in the Trujillo and Martinez families.
Bobby was preceded in death by stepmother, Lupe Trujillo; grandparents, Tony and Lucy Trujillo, Sr. and Tomas and Claudina Martinez and multiple other family members.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
